Reserve July 4 for the Firecracker Run
Mark your calendars for the 36th annual Firecracker Run on Wednesday, July 4th in East Moline. Millennium Waste Incorporated of Rock Island, Illinois, is a proud sponsor.
Millennium’s annual sponsorship is part of our ongoing commitment to the community, our neighbors, and the events that make the Quad Cities a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
The Firecracker Run has been an annual tradition in the Quad Cities for 35 years. Thousands of runners, family, and friends show up for the 5K, 10K, and other events that make this a fun, family event.
The Firecracker Run includes a pancake breakfast beginning at 6:30 a.m. at the American Legion, Post 227 on 16th Avenue. Get your fill but don’t miss the start of the races! Both the 5K and 10K begin at 7:30 a.m. in downtown East Moline and have music along the course. The Kiddie Run begins at 8:45 a.m. for those runners 8 and under and the Triumph Mile is also held for ages from 8 to 12. The Triumph Mile begins at 9:15 a.m.
The runs are just part of the fun. Hospital Bed Races are held at 10 a.m. and you’ll see the Guns ‘N’ Hoses Challenge teams on both the 5K and 10K courses and, of course, there’s a post-race party.
It’s a great day of fun, food, and races. Registration is now open for the 2018 event and registered participants will receive a shirt, finisher’s medal and bag.
